Discover wellness and relaxation with aromatic reflexology therapy! Live healthier and happier!

We have combined traditional reflexology with the synergistic benefits of aromatherapy. Essential oil blends are massaged into the feet or hands during the reflexology session enhancing its therapeutic effects. The total experience is designed to balance the body, mind and spirit and help bring about homeostasis. The session is a relaxing and joyful  getaway from the constant stress we bombard ourselves with everyday. Each session lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour.

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a wellness and healing tool designed to assist the body in bringing itself into balance. It is a non-invasive holistic science based on the principle that the feet and hands are a microcosm of the entire body. Reflex areas and nerve endings on the feet and hands map out the body and all of its different systems including the nervous, endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, urinary and lymphatic systems, as well as the joints and muscles. By opening the flow of energy throughout the different body systems homeostasis can be achieved.

The Benefits of Reflexology!

  • Relieves and reduces stress and tension
  • Improves the nerve, blood supply and circulation throughout the body
  • Assists with detoxification
  • Assists the body systems in achieving homeostasis and balance

How Does Reflexology Work?

There are approximately 7200 nerve endings in the feet andhands. By manipulating reflex areas, energy blockages throughout the body can be reduced and removed. This allows the body to heal and achieve homeostasis. The technique used in reflexology is a compression massage performed on the reflex areas which energizes  the nerve endings and stimulates the systemic flow of energy. The technique also relaxes the muscles and relieves tension.

About Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of pure essential oils or plant essences to maintain and promote physical, emotional and spiritual well being.  Though its true origins are unknown, the use of plant essences and aromatics for medicinal and spiritual purposes can be dated back 5000 years or more.
The use of essential oils in reflexology enhances its benefits by helping to increase blood and lymph flow, and aiding in the movement of waste products from the tissues. They also assist in the release of tension from the muscles and soft tissues. Soothing aromas from essential oils help to balance state of mind and relieve anxiety.

A Brief History of Reflexology!

Reflexology existed all throughout the world in ancient times including India, Asia, China and Japan. It was also used by early Native Americans. The earliest evidence found for reflexology in history dates back to 2330 B.C. in the early 6th Egyptian Dynasty. A wall painting in the tomb of Ankhmahor (known as the physician’s tomb) shows a reflexology treatment being performed. The hieroglyphs in the painting translate as “Don’t hurt me.” The practitioners reply is “I shall act so you praise me.”

In modern times Dr. William Fitzgerald is credited with founding reflexology and zone therapy in 1913. In the 1920’s Eunice Ingham (a nurse and physiotherapist) further developed and advanced reflexology with the actual mapping out of the feet. She also discovered that alternating pressure on reflex areas stimulated healing.

All of these many contributions helped to shape reflexology into what it is today, a comprehensive, modern healing and wellness tool with ancient roots and wisdom.
